The Wellington players will certainly remember 
Friday the thirteenth 2024.
The story is in their replayed match against Belmont A, which had been rained off on a previous date, Belmont raced away to a 20 - 4 lead
but by the 18th end Wellington had pulled that back to 20 - 17.
With 1 bowl to play in the match, they were holding 4 shots to win
the end, match and the league, unfortunately for them,
the Belmont skip managed to draw fourth bowl to cutting that down
to three and draw the rink.
The fact that Belmont drew on one rink, gaining 1 point and reducing Wellington to 7 meant Wellington not only failed to win the league,
but with the top 3 Clubs equal on points and Wellington third on shot difference, they missed out on promotion as well, unbelievable result.
You have to feel for them, I hear The Belmont skip left the country.
