Ol Men Bowling.jpg

Welcome to the World of Bowling for men over 60 years of age in Exeter and the surrounding District.

This league was started in 1985/86 with the purpose of offering friendly competitive bowls, during the daytime, to men aged

60 and over.
Lyn Parry, Derek Blatchford and a small committee of mainly Topsham bowlers got together with players from around 9 other clubs to get the league started and it quickly became established as the league to be playing in.

It has become, without doubt, one of the most popular League for Men's Bowls in Devon and also now includes Clubs from Somerset.
Every Wednesday afternoon, at 2.30pm, from the end of April to beginning of September, approximately 480 men compete in

8 Divisions of Triples Bowls.
The league covers an area from Wellington (Somerset) in the North, Chardstock in the East, Dawlish in the South and Chagford and Okehampton in the West.

Any Outdoor Bowls Club within a boundary of 35 miles from the centre of Exeter can apply to join the League. All they will need to do is be able to find six players each week on a regular basis. The League matches are two rinks of triples and each Club plays every other Club in their division once at home and once away.

To enter a team into the League simply contact the secretary; Tony Broughton.
